Apple Tree Campground Description
Apple Tree Campground is located near Jackson Lake, west of the town of Wrightwood. The campground is actually right on the highway, so there isn't much privacy. There are 8 campsites in the campground. Apple Tree Campground has pit toilets and running water. Although the campsite is out in the open, it is close to the Mescal Picnic Area and Jackson Lake. There is no fee to camp here, other than displaying a National Forest Adventure Pass in the windshield of your vehicle.
Directions to Apple Tree Campground from Wrightwood
Take Highway 2 westbound from the town of Wrightwood to the Big Pines area. From here, take Big Pines Highway (downhill) toward Jackson Lake. After a couple of miles of windy road, Apple Tree Campground will be on your left. Unfortunately this campground does not allow RVs and you have to park your vehicle in the parking area along the side of the highway, as there is no parking at the individual campsites.
