Spaghetti Fundraiser Huge Success For Snowline Players
The Snowline Players’ Italian dinner fundraiser was a great success! It was an evening of wonderful homemade pasta and entertainment. Guests were cooked for, served, and entertained by cast members of the up-coming musical. The fundraiser was to help fund their summer musical, The Pirates of Penzance. The Snowline Players raised nearly $1,000.00 which will cover the costume rentals for the show.
The Pirates of Penzance was written by Gilbert and Sullivan in the late 1800’s. It’s a comedy that spoofs the pirates, police, and upper class of that era. It opened to huge acclaim when it first premiered in London at the Royal Bijou Theatre on December 30th, 1879 and also the following day in New York at the Fifth Avenue Theatre. Because of its wonderfully written and catchy music as well as its hysterical antics it is still very popular with theater goers today.
The Snowline Players will be presenting The Pirates of Penzance at the Performing Arts Center at Serrano High School August 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14. For more information and ticket sales please contact the players at snowlineplayers@gmail.com.
