Curious about local current weather?

If you are interested in ACCURATE current weather readings, or those for the past several days, there is a great place to look it up. Wrightwood has three local weather stations that are installed and maintained by volunteer observers under the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration's National Weather Service. What makes these stations special or more accurate? Well, these are part of the MesoNet and MesoWest. Programs that utilize private stations to collect official weather data, and as such the equipment at these stations has been sited (installed) per NWS requirements for sampling accuracy, and then actually inspected and certified by NWS personnel. These stations upload data to the weather service once an hour and you can view the data here:

Just zoom in over Wrightwood and you can see the three station locations, and also see how different the weather is at the two ends of town. It's pretty a dramatic difference.

Thank you for the information. Great to have an accurate website for current and past conditions. I am sure alot of people will find this useful. Better info than most sites I have seen around here.

yes, those are good... and also you can get a few more locations around the area at the bottom of this page, under
"weather stations".. including one at Table Mtn. Fun to watch the wind speeds from that location in the winter!

Clint and Big Pines know what they are talking about. Both have a lot of experience in "Weather". Kudo's to using the site you do for "realtime Weather". He's done an excellent job with the website.
