Jackson Lake is a beautiful place in both the Summer and Winter however, it can be very dangerous and many people have died here in the past for different reasons. The ice on the lake in the Winter months is very thin and dangerous. DO NOT walk out onto the ice, as you can see what happens in the above video. Snowplayers do not always realize the dangers.

Due to this incident on December 25th, the US Forest Service has closed Jackson Lake to visitors from January 1st to Mach 31st, 2013.
